According to an exclusive report by Variety, Sykes hasn't toured since the global pandemic began, but occasionally made appearances in various clubs and venues post-2020, honing her material for her newest Netflix special that we all love - "I'm an Entertainer".

The said Netflix special became an instant hit, nominated for Emmys for best variety, music or comedy special and best writing for a variety, music or comedy special. Focusing on hot topics during the pandemic, it sure did strike everyone home. It tackled various topics such as the Jan. 6 insurrection, the Black American community, trans rights, and many more.

She sure is a hailed queen in the industry for shedding light onto important conversations surrounding LGBT issues, violence, and racism. Sykes has the wonderful ability to strike political humor while raising awareness and sharing important messages that she wants us to understand. Her personal approach, as described by The Hollywood Reporter makes real-world issues "more relatable."

"I'm an Entertainer" also received nominations at the Grammy Awards for "Best Comedy Album" and at the Golden Globe Awards for "Best Performance Stand-Up Comedy". Now that's her power!

Wanda Sykes recognizes that all she does isn't all glitter and gold, telling The Hollywood Reporter that she's "pretty much established an audience who expect me to say something." It may be full of humor, but what she talks about are indeed real-world issues that affect people and communities around the globe. "It is pretty challenging to do that and to make it funny and not so polarizing," she explained. Her signature move is to explain how these topics affect her, and then injecting her humor into every opportunity, hoping that audiences both learn and laugh.

Back on the road, "I’m so excited about it. This is the first time that I’m doing a real tour", she says. Don't miss out by booking your tickets now!
